Troy Adams of Scotts Valley took his 4 piece Sage Custom Rod by Alibi to British Columbia.
He claimed the rod functioned great, allowing him to meet the casting demands of big water
and to fight the large fish that it produced.
Troy caught the largest fish of the trip, a 18 pound steelhead salmon.
A short time later the rod was used in Baja California to catch 3 Rooster Fish.
The largest of which was over 30 pounds and the rod easily met the challenge of these hard
fighting fish.

Dear Cheryl and Dave,very much enjoyed browsing your sight (I'm
envious). My wife and I have 6 children that have all grown up on our boat; a
Radon Cortez 22. We fished commercially for a time. Now my oldest son and I both
hold Masters liscenses and we're contimplating starting a charter service.
Recently I contacted Alibi to help me solve a problem that has troubled me for
many years I am missing my right arm and the hook attachment on my prothesis,
that I use to hold the pole destroys traditional cork grips rather quickly. I
was looking for an alternative grip that would slow down or eliminate this
problem. When I called Alibi, Dave was extremely helpful. He brainstormed with
me and we were able to come up with an alternative grip which Alibi applied to 2
of my favorite poles.Now after a couple of dozen uses, 5 X's the life
expectancy of cork grips, my grips are still in good shape. I'd like to thank
you for your help in solving this problem and have been busy showing off your
skillful craftmenship to all of my fellow fisherman and recommending Alibi
Custom Rods to everybody I know ! I'll be contacting you within the next couple
of weeks to have you re-grip all of my favorite rods as well as having you start
making myself and my family custom Tuna rods for next season. Thanks again for
