I worked for 24yrs with the city of San Jose until an injury forced me into a early retirement. I accepted the offer of retraining and pursued my fishing passion.
I learned the craft of custom rod building from Doug Weber. Doug is a long time craftsmen and the president of the Custom Rod Builders Guild, an international organization of rod builders.
I have been building custom rods from my home for over 5 years & have been training my husband, David in the craft for the past 2 years. He is a talented woodworker and helps me with many of the details used in crafting truly custom rods for our customers. David spent time as a commercial fisherman on the Monterey Bay and is currently working on his Coast Guard Captains license. He graduated from the NAUI SCUBA Instructors Course at the University of Santa Cruz during July of 2007. David is currently teaching SCUBA Diving through Aqua Safari Dive Center in Santa Cruz, CA.
We strive to Keep current on rod building techniques by attending training and conclaves across the US yearly.
